For the Ladies reading the WALL and especially for the gentlemen looking for an expressive gift for their loved one, this new exceptionally fun and elegant table design could be a beautiful acquisition for your home. Stiletto by Splinter Works was created to express the elegant shapes of a glamorous Louboutin-inspired stiletto shoe. A hand-sculpted high-heel-resembling leg supports the chic table at one end, while the other end consists of a curved plank. Made from solid stacked walnut, the Stiletto was finished on the underside in polished red acrylic, elegantly resembling the signature red-soled Christian Louboutin footwear. Refined drawers are perfectly fitted to glide openwith the use of carefully hidden finger grooves on the underside.Seeing the pictures, do you think it would make a great gift or would you keep it to yourself?

Light-emitting Wallpaper
Dutch designer Jonas Samson‘s light-emitting wallpaper concept makes it possible “to use a two-dimentional flat surface as light source instead of a 3D object. As long as the wallpaper is turned ‘off’, it is indistinguishable as a source of light. Instead, it is just what it appears to be: wallpaper.”  >> www.jonassamson.com

14.36 Pendant Light
The 14 Series are a family of low voltage pendant lighting products designed to be clustered in groups. Each individual pendant is an articulated, seamed, cast glass sphere with a frosted cylindrical void which houses a 10 watt xenon or halogen lamp. Unlike most contemporary lighting, the 14 Series pendants are visually quite subtle in and of themselves – they do not dominate a room. Instead, they are designed for clustering – gaining tremendous visual strength when multiplied – the effect being of many tiny candles encased in floating spheres of water. The light interacts with the imperfections and bubbles of the cast glass to make a visually rich halo of light. Cast glass is an organic process – imperfect by nature – so each piece produced is unique. >> www.ylighting.com

Ventopop Pendant Light
In an homage to the Pop Art movement of the 1960s, Arturo Alvarez presents the wildly popular Vento series in a unique color combination. Produced in extremely limited editions of only 500 units, the Vento POP is available as a table lamp and suspension in two sizes as well as a wall sconce. Every Arturo Alvarez stained glass diffuser is handcrafted one-by-one by trained artisans in limited series. Each Arturo Alvarez original is yours alone; no two pieces are exactly the same. Following the painstaking production process, Arturo Alvarez himself engraves his signature and the series number onto the finished diffuser, certifying that the craftsman has exceeded Arturo’s personal standards for quality. Arturo Alvarez does not manufacture lights; they create original works of art whose beauty is optimized by illumination

Warm Up Your Kitchen with Spring’s Color Trends
kitchenThe kitchen is the heart of the home: a place to cook and share a meal, to entertain friends, gather as a family and even pay bills or do homework.”From a decor perspective, the kitchen is the perfect place to get colorful,” Rachel Kapner, president of Creative Wallcoverings and Interiors, www.creativewallcoverings.com. “Vibrant colors are a great way to reflect and reinforce the high energy of your home’s central gathering place.”No need for a complete overhaul to bring the energy to  your kitchen. Start with some strategically selected splashes of color in countertop appliances, cookware, dinnerware, candles, placemats and other linens.”ASPIRE NJ Magazine Editor-In-Chief Amy Sneider informs us that the hotcolors spring are warm hues like tangerine and butterscotch” “ And those are perfect for kitchens because they’re comforting and actually stimulate appetite,” explains Kapner. “A lot of the fun comes in blending old favorites and new shades in fresh, innovative ways.” Color palettes that industry insiders recommend for spring 2011 include:Rustic revival: Relaxed and informal, this palette is inspired by nature and features colors pulled from the outdoors. Shades such as basil, eggplant and copper help create a cozy space reminiscent of the past and simpler times. For a new spin on a traditional rustic color scheme, Rachel suggests pairing a deep, earthy hue with accents of cool pink.Bold expression: Exuding optimism, this palette creates a look that is both unconventional and energetic. Unique color mixes, such as intense purple combined with butterscotch and Capri blue, or sunny orange with dark red balanced against a soft neutral like champagne, create a space that’s eclectic, yet warm and welcoming. Rachel recommends mixing patterns, textures and styles for a one-of-a-kind look.Classic elegance: Lois Darling a 15 year veteran design pro from  the Creative Wallcoverings Team adds that Evoking the look of 17th century Versailles, this color palette will give your kitchen a serene, elegant look. Traditional shades like lavender, turquoise, antique pink and bronze can be combined with touches of richer colors like peacock, charcoal and delicious red for a more contemporary look.World market: With the explosion of technology, the world has suddenly become a much smaller place. This modern palette reflects the new global outlook with  accents in colors from other cultures, such as the calm oranges and yellows of India, the bright reds of the Far East, and the Capri blue of the Mediterranean. Virginia Liberato of the CWI Design Team suggests grounding these bright colors with black, white, silver or brushed stainless.”In the final analysis, it’s all about doing what you like and surrounding yourself with the colors that make you happy,” concludes Sneider.Long recognized as a leader in the colorful kitchen revolution, Creative Wallcoverings has agreements with top kitchenware manufacturers, granite and stone fabricators, and accessories from major brands that can be customized to every color.
